Classical, Collaborative, Christ-Centered
Our Mission
Paris Classical Academy partners with Christian parents to provide their children with a Christ-Centered classical education that cultivates critical thinking, independent thought, and the ability to resist cultural pressures. Truth. Goodness. Beauty.
Classical
Derived from the Latin term classicus, “classical” refers to “that which is of the first rank,” specifically “a work of acknowledged excellence and authority, or its author; originally used of Greek and Latin works or authors, but now applied to authors and works of a like character in any language.” More broadly, “classical” refers to any work in literature, philosophy, theology, music, or art that has “stood the test of time” and has been judged historically and traditionally to be “excellent and authoritative” by Western scholars. “Classical” also refers to the classical languages Latin and Greek, the classical pedagogy known as “the Socratic Method,” and the classical absolutes of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.

Grammar
Grades K-4
Focus: Memorization and absorbing foundational knowledge, much like learning the “grammar” of a language.
Skills: Rote memorization of facts, rules, chants, and rhymes. This includes memorizing multiplication tables, phonics, historical dates, and vocabulary.

Logic
Grades 5-8
Focus: Developing logical reasoning and critical thinking skills.
Skills: Understanding cause and effect, making connections, and asking “why?”. Students learn to form arguments, detect fallacies, and analyze information they’ve memorized.

Rhetoric
Grades 9-12
Skills: Synthesizing knowledge and logical reasoning to write and speak persuasively. This includes learning the art of public speaking, debate, and persuasive writing.

Collaborative
We are a collaborative school, meaning children attend classes on campus three days a week and complete assignments from home the other two days. This model allows us to partner with parents to give their children a education that is both rigorous and tailored to the student’s needs.
Christ Centered
While our constituency represents families of various Christian denominations, the trustees, administration, and faculty of Paris Classical Academy embrace orthodox Christianity as set forth in the Bible, the inspired Word of God, and those creeds and confessions of faith that best express that orthodoxy.

What Our Families Say…
It has been a joy to watch our daughter learn and thrive at PCA. Our family loves the collaborative model where we still get to be very involved in her education while offering her the benefit of learning in a classroom setting alongside other students. That little bit of friendly competition has done wonders for her.

Ryan & Erica
ParentsAfter years of homeschooling, we’re so grateful we made the switch to a classical Christian school with a collaborative model. It truly feels like the best of both worlds — strong academics, meaningful community, and continued parental involvement.

Anthony & Eve
ParentsI used to be a proponent of public school. Socialization and all that. But then I started looking at the difference in the fruit that public and classical schools produce. 2 years into PCA and my son is far ahead of where I was in public school at his age. And not just academically.
